Rose-Hulman has joined the National Academy of Engineering in focusing on 14 urgent challenges facing the world in the 21st century. As a Grand Challenges Scholar, you'll focus your education on one of these challenges and make a tangible impact before you graduate.

You commit to being a Grand Challenges Scholar starting your first year—giving you direction for your college career as you plan your electives, choose a minor, take on internships and plan for study-abroad opportunities.

Dr. Rebecca Bercich

Mechanical engineering professor Rebecca Berchich is the director of Rose-Hulman's Grand Challenge Scholars program. She leads a team of outstanding faculty and staff committed to doing their part to tackle the 14 NAE Grand Challenges for the 21st century.

Our Grand Challenges team includes faculty from several different academic departments—a reflection of the interdisciplinary nature of the challenges facing our world.
