Rose-Hulman Students Showcasing Innovative Projects in Free, Public Rose Show Event

More than 130 student teams will showcase their innovative projects at the Rose Show on May 7 in the college’s Sports & Recreation Center.
Innovation will be on full display at the 2025 Rose Show on May 7, from 1-3 p.m. in the Rose-Hulman Sports & Recreation Center. This collegiate version of the World's Fair will showcase student projects that fill needs within organizations, society, and individual clients. The public is invited to attend this free event and learn about the student projects.
The Rose Show and its impact continue to grow each year. This year, more than 130 different projects will be presented by first-year students through graduating seniors, representing nearly every academic department. Judges will determine Best of Show awards, including the William A. Kline Innovation Award honoring the legacy of the college's former dean of innovation.
The Rose Show and its dedication to innovation is interwoven throughout campus culture and is a highly-anticipated annual event. Started in 1928, the Rose Show reached its peak in 1932 with more than 6,700 community members attending.
This year, student projects have included an open-source educational robotics kit, a transitional housing shelter for people navigating homelessness, a stream table for the Montessori Academy of Terre Haute, a reclining wheelchair, local city infrastructure redevelopments, and a motion mat to enhance a child's upper body movement and cognitive development, among dozens of others. Projects were also completed as part of the Battery Workforce Challenge, Human-Powered Vehicle Team, Grand Prix Engineering, Rose Rocketry, and Robotics competition teams.
Rose-Hulman faculty and staff who attend the Rose Show and provide feedback on student projects may earn up to two hours of professional development credit.
