Grading plan:
- If you work hard in this seminar (see responsibilities below),
you will get a good grade.
- If you dont work hard, you will get a lousy grade.
- If you need more details than that, this seminar is probably not for you.
Your responsibilities:
- Read the papers carefully.
I would expect several hours per paper, at the least.
- Participate fully in class discussions. Attendance is mandatory.
Arrive with two lists:
- Technical points you did not understand.
- Questions that the paper suggests to you.
These should be questions that you think:
- The research community would find interesting, and
- It might be practical to answer.
- Present a portion of a paper, for each project.
Work incredibly hard at this, since your success here determines the success of the seminar.
- Work appropriately with your group in carrying out the project.
(Design experiments, write code, run experiments, evaluate results, etc.)
- Present results.
(Results will be presented both orally and in writing. You will do one for one project and the other for the other project.) |
