Dr. Sher's expertise concentrates in conducting ethnographic methods of inquiry to examine technology subcultures, their unique experiences with technologies, and what insights we may draw from these use cases; his doctorate research examined the video game speedrunning and livestreaming subcultures. He is also applying similar approaches to examining computer science education. In his spare time, Dr. Sher is an avid video game player and cooking hobbyist.
