Simon W. Jones

Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Simon Jones specializes in vibrations and computational mechanics, with research interests in numerical simulation of systems undergoing vibration (such as traffic-induced ground vibration) and Wavelet-Galerkin methods in structural dynamics. He has industry experience working as a research engineer for C-FER Technologies and as a mechanical design engineer for General Dynamics Canada. Dr. Jones advises the Alpha Lambda Delta freshman honor society, and is the co-advisor of the Robotics Team and Climbing Club. In his free time, he enjoys shotgun sports, kayaking, and mountain biking. Check out his personal web page.
