Dr. Lane is passionate about undergraduate Chemistry education and mentorship through classroom instruction and the engagement of students in cutting-edge chemical biology research. She mentors undergraduate research projects at Rose-Hulman that reveal and engineer the genetically encoded capabilities of bacteria to produce natural products. Student projects yield potential drug molecules of the future and green biotechnology tools for molecule production. Her undergraduate research efforts have been recognized by grant awards totaling >$1 million dollars from agencies including National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Dreyfus Foundation.
