This is the weekly log.

09/12/2005

Time commitment to date is 6 hours.

The project team initially met 09/05/2005. Our project turned out to be a sort of content management system for Bryan Taylor. Soon after that meeting, I sent a message to Bryan to arrange a meeting. We agreed on Thursday tenth period. On that Thursday, the group met with Bryan and we introduced ourselves. We discussed what kind of problems were currently being faced by Bryan and tried to keep discussion high level. After covering the high level ideas, we determined that Thursday tenth period would be a good time for further client meetings. During the Monday project time, the group brainstormed some questions to start focusing in on what actually needs to be solved and what has already been considered. We also started putting some ideas together for a very draft problem statement.

My reflection as the project leader is that we are off to a great start. I think we are thinking too much about the solution to the problem instead of figuring out what the actual problem is at times, but I am doing a decent job of keeping things on course. Other than that, I think the group is working together well, and it was awesome for Andrew to volunteer to be the scribe.

09/19/2005

Time commitment to date is 10 hours.

On 09/16/2005, the team met with Brian Taylor as well as Hyung-Jung Chang, another Web developer. In the meeting, we started focusing more closely on the project and finding out what was actually in scope. We asked questions such as what the desired form of the solution was and what potential solutions had already been considered and why they were rejected. Using the information gathered in this meeting, we finalized a problem statement.

We are continuing to go strong and I think the group has a common vision since it is hard to not talk about implementation details at this stage. Andrew is continuing to do a great job keeping minutes of meetings.

10/07/2005

Time commitment to date is 14 hours.

The group met with Brian Taylor and Hyung-Jung Chang on 09/22/2005.  The group discussed primary use cases and drew up a storyboard illustrating them.

During much of the following week, the team leader did not show.

On 10/06/2005, the group met with Bryan Taylor and priorized project features for inclusion in the vision document.

As project leader, I am definitely finding the project documentation to be time consuming in publishing to the site. As a possible solution, I have put the site into Microsoft Frontpage and will see how things go.
