Kevin G. Sutterer

Professor and Department Head

Dr. Kevin Sutterer is a geotechnical engineer who specializes in waste utilization in structural fills, seismic stability of earth structures, geosynthetics, ground modification, and geotechnical construction. He also coordinates the department’s senior-year capstone design projects and consulting engineer seminar program. He also advocated the establishment of the civil engineering master’s degree program. A registered professional engineer, Dr. Sutterer has worked as a consultant in most areas of geotechnical engineering. He also is the associate editor of the ASCE Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education & Practice.
