Our Mission is to Always Improve

The goal of the Center for the Practice and Scholarship of Education (CPSE) is to help our faculty be the best educators they can be.

Our formal mission is to:

  • Encourage and support faculty working to improve student learning and enhance instructional effectiveness
  • Assist faculty engaged in educational scholarship and assessment
  • Facilitate the sharing of ideas and practices within the Institute and the larger educational community
  • Serve as a campus repository for information related to teaching and learning
Ella Ingram, Ph.D.

Ella Ingram

Dr. Ingram is the Director of the Center for the Practice and Scholarship of Education. She is also an Associate Professor of Biology and Biomedical Engineering at Rose-Hulman. Dr. Ingram has taught at Rose-Hulman since 2004. Her teaching responsibilities include introductory and advanced ecology and evolution, non-majors courses in biology, and the senior thesis sequence. Prior to joining Rose-Hulman, Ella taught at Indiana University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in ecology and evolution with a certification in college teaching.
