Anne Houtman

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Biology & Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Anne Houtman joins the department faculty while also being Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs for the Institute. She came to Rose-Hulman after being dean of the School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering at California State University, Bakersfield, and head of Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. In these roles, Dr. Houtman initiated partnerships with corporations, foundations, and government agencies to support a variety of academic initiatives, including student internships, faculty research opportunities, and cutting-edge technical equipment. She is a first-generation college graduate who earned a doctorate in zoology from the University of Oxford.
