TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's 4-x-400 meter relay team
captured Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the
Week honors for their efforts at the Engineer Twilight Meet on
Friday.
The tandem of (pictured L to R) sophomore Brent Austgen (Cedar Lake/Hanover Central), senior Paul Bouagnon (St. Charles, Ill./Burlington Central), sophomore Tyler Hannan (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark) and junior Sutton Coleman (Lebanon, Va.) ran a historic time of 3:17.50 in the effort. The time established a new Rose-Hulman school record and a Cook Stadium mark.
The 4-x-400 relay mark also ranks No. 7 nationally so far this season and stands as the top time in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this spring.
The effort helped the Rose-Hulman men's team place second in the Engineer Twilight Meet. Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Bellarmine Invitational this Saturday, with throwing event competitors scheduled to compete at the Pacesetter Invitational at Indiana State.
