Chemical Engineering is a broad field amenable to numerous industries, from petroleum, paper pulp and pharmaceuticals to polymers and semiconductors. The program's flexibility allows students to pursue independent research projects on topics such as surfactants, optimization of heat exchanger networks, adsorption, and phase equilibria of polar fluids.

Independent Research

In addition to being an opportunity to prepare for grad school, undergraduate research experience is valuable in preparing students for employment.

Interdisciplinary Work

Our curriculum provides students with the opportunity to learn the foundational concepts while concentrating in many areas.

"Universal" Engineers

Because of the breadth of their technical and scientific background, many fields that require technical training are open to chemical engineers.
