OUR MISSION
Mail Processing
Service's mission is to coordinate the
preparation of business and personal
mailings from the institute to insure timely
delivery and maximum savings.
Outgoing Letter Mail and Packages
Institute Business Mail and Packages
Mail
Processing Services processes all outgoing
Institute business letter mail and packages.
Mail Processing Services offers a complete line of mail
preparation services. The US Postal
Services offers postal rate reductions for
various classes of mail that require
automated mail processing. Departments
are required to identify their desktop mail
by a barcode for tracking purposes (supplied
to each department). All outgoing
Institute business letter mail and packages
must be dropped off by 3:00 p.m. at any of
the following three (3) locations:

Mail Processing Services - Facilities building
Departments
with bulk mailings and large mail piece
quantities (generally 200 mail pieces) may
request a pick-up services and can discuss
possible rate discounts available for their
mailings.
Please complete a Mail and Copy Center
Request Form for all large mailings.
Mail not
received by the 3:00 p.m. drop-off deadline
will be processed the next business day.

As a
convenience to students, faculty and staff,
postage stamps may be purchased for personal
use at the following locations:

denomination and all metered

booklet of 10 or 20 each and
Flat Rate Priority Mail
envelopes)

Moench Hall - next to the
self-service package
counter (first class stamps
may be purchased from a
vending machine in booklets
of 12 or 20 each.
All
personal First Class mail must be stamped
and placed into the USPS mailboxes located
in Moench Hall (student commons area) or in
the HMU (lower level).
Package
Services -
There are
three (3) package supply counters available
for use to process packages:

MDC student counter)

(lower level near the ATM
machine)
- Facilities
Building (at the Mail and
Copy Center)
Please
bring completed
Package Shipping Form to the MCC, located in the
Facilities building.
Drop-off
deadline is 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday
After-Hours -
Should you require
after-hours shipping services (after 3:00
p.m. or weekends), please prepare a
Package Shipping Form and your package.
Copies of all after-hours FedEX
shipping documents for Institute business
packages must be sent to the MCC for
tracking purposes.
Personal packages shipped
via UPS must be taken to the local UPS
operation located at U.S. Hwy 46.
UPS does not have a daily stop at
RHIT.
Student Fax Services
Fax
services are available to students at the
RHIT Bookstore during regular business
hours. You may fax documents by completing a
Fax Message Envelope. Bookstore
personnel will fax the documents for you and
return the Fax Message Envelope to your
campus mailbox. The Fax Message Envelope
will indicate that your message was sent.

- Provides maximum
protection and security for
valuables. Available only
for items paid at Priority
Mail and First-Class Mail
rates.
Delivery Confirmation
- Verify delivery with
Delivery Confirmation. Our
low cost Delivery
Confirmation service gives
you the date, ZIP Code and
the time your article was
delivered. If delivery was
attempted you will get the
date and time of attempted
delivery. You can easily
access this information on
our
Track & Confirm
Web site. Delivery
Confirmation service is
available for domestic
Priority Mail and for
parcels mailed as
First-Class Mail, Package
Services or Standard Mail
(electronic rate only)
Certified
- Provides a mailing
receipt. A record is kept at
the recipient�s post office.
A return receipt can also be
purchased for an additional
fee. This service is
available only with
First-Class Mail and
Priority Mail.
Return Receipt
- Provides a mailer with
evidence of delivery. Also
supplies the recipient�s
actual delivery address if
it is different from the
address used by the sender.
A return receipt may be
requested before or after
delivery. Available only for
Express Mail, certified
mail, insured mail for more
than $50, or registered
mail. Fee in addition to
postage: Showing to whom
delivered, signature, date,
and addressee�s address (if
different).
Express Mail
- Express Mail is the
fastest service, with next
day delivery by 12 noon to
most destinations. Express
Mail is delivered 365 days a
year�with no extra charge
for Saturday, Sunday, or
holiday delivery. All
packages must use an Express
Mail label. Items must weigh
70 pounds or less and
measure 108 inches or less
in combined length and
girth.
Priority
- Priority Mail offers 2-3
day service to most domestic
destinations. Items must
weigh 70 pounds or less and
measure 108 inches or less
in combined length and
girth.

mail piece design, reducing postage costs,
automation processing and mail preparation

services provided by the Mail Processing
Center.
Standard Mail

have been established to insure compliance
with Mail Processing Services
Quality
Control Assurance Program.
Campus mailing patrons should read and
follow these guidelines when using the mail
preparation services.
Payments for Mailings
PERSONAL MAIL
Perrsonal mail and packages must be
paid for at the time of mailing. The Mail Processing Center
accepts cash, checks, or credit cards ($5 minimum). We accept
MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
INSTITUTE MAIL
Most postal services
and related supply costs incurred by the Mail Processing Center for RHIT
business mailings are paid by Administrative Services, except for the
following:

bookstore related charges or third-party sponsored

Package Returns
All package costs
(FedEx, UPS, etc.) associated with the return of equipment or
other items are the responsibility of each department or campus mail
patron and will be charged back accordingly.
An invoice will be
sent to your department budget manager, campus mail patron or
organization at the beginning of the following month.
