Before attempting to make an Internet connection, you will need to register your hardware address for the wireless card (and ethernet card, if using ethernet) with IAIT. The addresses may be found in the Network preferences pane of System Preferences.

Using RHIT-1X on Macintosh OS X (this works for 10.4.x (Tiger); I have not tried earlier versions).

1.    Open Internet Connect
2.    Select New 802.1X Connection in the File menu.
3.    Select Edit Configuration in the pop-up menu in the dialog.
4.    Enter Kerberos username and password.
5.    Enter wireless network RHIT-1X
6.    Select PEAP in Authentication (you may wish to deselect the others).
7.    Click OK.
8.    Click Connect in the 802.1X dialog.
9.    (A dialog may appear stating that the server certificate could not be validated. Click Continue. You may see the dialog a second time. After this, you should be connected.)

Using RHIT-1X on Macintosh OS X (this works for 10.5.x Leopard). (Note: for many computers running Leopard, once RHIT-1X is selected, the computer should simply ask for username and password and configure the rest without intervention.)

1.    Open Network Preferences
2.    You may be presented with a choice of networks; select RHIT-1X
3.    If you get a dialog asking for user name, enter Kerberos username and password. This may be all you need to do.
4.    Otherwise, select Airport, and then click Advanced.
5.    Click the 802.1X tab.
6.    Select User in the Domain pop-up.
7.    Select RHIT-1X in Wireless Network
8.    Enter Kerberos username and password and make sure that PEAP is selected.
9.    (A dialog may appear stating that the server certificate could not be validated. Click Continue. You may see the dialog a second time. After this, you should be connected.)
