7 Dec The drop box for electronic submission of
labs should be ready to go --- I think. The system will be a little
different from last term, for those of you who had my class last term.
First you need to have Wake running and the standard drive mappings in
place. (They will be if you haven't changed them.) There is a drop box
for each student and you should be able to access it through this link, then find
your user name. Only you have access to your drop box so you need to be
logged into Wake from your computer or with your username and password.
You should have full permissions on your drop box so that you can fix
any errors in submitting the file. (Make sure there is only one file
at a time in the dropbox!) The file name is not important,
except that it should end in the .mws extension. Do not put other
homework in this box, only labs. If you have a problem (and you might,
because I can't test this from home) please let me know.
17 Dec Just to make it clear about how the drop boxes
operate: when I collect the labs I remove them from the drop box
and put them in a separate folder to go to the grader. As specified in
the instructions, there should only be one .mws file in the drop box at
a time. (This just makes it easier for the program which automatically
collects them and sends them to the grader.)
P.S. Some students have asked about files with names like .DS_Store
which have mysteriously appeared in their drop boxes. Anything that
starts with a period is put there by Wake (or a similar program) and is
harmless.
17 Jan Linux and Mac OS X users with an AFS client
should be able to use
this link
to access the drop boxes.

The first batch of electronic labs is ready to be returned. You can
find them in a "Return Box" which works the same way as the
drop box. There is a return box for each student and you should be
able to access it through this link (if you
are using your laptop), then find
your user name. Only you have access to your return box so you need to
be logged into Wake from your computer or with your username and
password. Let me know if you have any trouble.

should be able to use

to access the return boxes.

The review session scheduled for today is cancelled. The exam
will be moved from Monday to Tuesday, and Monday will be a review day.
I will figure out over the next week or so when to make up the extra
day.
