- You may use one 3 by 5 index card on the exam, front and back sides,
which you have hand-written yourself. The card may include anything you
think would be helpful. Put your name on it and hand it in with your
exam. Other notes and books are not allowed on this exam. Calculators are
not allowed.
- You may start with an empty Maple worksheet. You may
use the Maple help system, but you may not use any other files on your
hard drive or the Internet. Please turn your wireless cards off
before you start.
- Organize your work in an unambiguous order. Show all necessary
steps. If you use Maple, make sure to copy all of the relevant steps
from your worksheet to this booklet. (You probably will want to do
this while you are working so that you don't forget.) Be
sure to show the work leading up to your Maple calculations. You will
not be given credit for any work you do not show.
- If your work won't fit in the space provided, clearly indicate
where it is continued. Use the blank page at the end for scratch.
- I recommend that you don't start on the extra credit question
until you have finished all that you can on the other questions.
- Cross out; don't erase! If you write something correct, change your
mind, and cross it out so that I can still read it, I will give you partial
credit. But only if I can still read it!
- I give hints sometimes. Ask me if you're stuck or confused.
- Good luck!
