• What you need installed
  • If your software was installed by IAIT, you probably have what you need and you should skip this step .
  • Otherwise, follow the instructions in What You Need Installed.
• Your First Session in Eclipse

  Follow the instructions in each of the following documents, in the order listed. Call or email if you have problems on any of it!

  • Step 1: How to enter Eclipse the first time
  • Step 2: Using the PyDev console to write your first Python statements
  • Step 3: Acquiring your first Python program from SVN
• Experiment in Eclipse

  Do the following inside Eclipse, after having gotten the Session01 project per the preceding step:

  • Open and examine the m1e... through m5e... files in Session01.
    • These are EXAMPLES (indicated by the e in their name).
    • Don't attempt to learn everything in them, but do make a list of questions for things about which you are curious. Send that list to your instructor.
  • Open the other two files (m6... and m7...) in Session01.
    • Do the TODO's you will see in the files.
    • The goal of this exercise is to start becoming comfortable in Eclipse.
    • It is perfectly OK if you mess up any of the files in Session01 in any way.
