UNIX System Programming

Prerequisites: CS 231.

System programming in the UNIX environment.  Introduction to the UNIX environment.   UNIX system calls: input/output, files and directories, signals, pipes and interprocess communication, sockets and interhost communication, daemons, remote procedure calls.  UNIX software tools: shells, filters, scripting languages.
