C.S. Department Curriculum Information

The information on-line is taken from the 1995-97 Undergraduate Bulletin. The abbreviations below are those used in the original Bulletin.

Whenever there is a discrepancy between these pages and the Bulletin, the information in the Bulletin supersedes that in these pages. If you find any discrepancies in these pages, please notify webmaster@cs.rose-hulman.edu.

Credits

The first number (followed by an R) is the number of hours spent during lecture. The second number (followed by a L) is the number of hours spent in the lab. These are usually counted as 1/2 of lecture hours. The final number (followed by a C) is the total number class hours awarded upon completion of the class.

For example, the designation 1R-3L-2C would mean there is one hour of lecture per week, three hours of lab per week, and two credits awarded for the class.

When Offered

The designations F, W, and S mean Fall, Winter, and Spring, respectively. If there is a year after that range, that means the class is only offered that year. (Not all of the courses are offered every year. Some are offered every two years, depending on which professors are on sabbatical.)

For example, the designation W 1996-97 would mean that the course is only offered Winter quarter of the 1996-97 school year.

The designation Arr means that course availability must be arranged. Contact the department secretary, extension 8402, for details.
