How to save paper
If you’re a student, no doubt you use LOTS of paper. Here are some easy ways to reduce the amount of paper you throw away.
- Avoid unnecessary print jobs.
- Don't print cover sheets (here's how to get rid of them)
- Save one-sided paper to use as scratch paper
- Recycle used paper
- Buy recycled paper
- Use campus mail envelopes
The Importance of Reducing
There’s a reason why you always here "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" in this order. Because this is their relative order of importance. If we reduce the amount of paper and other waste we use, then there is no need to recycle it. As good as recycling is, it still produces toxins and waste. So next time, before you buy or use an easily disposable item, think if you really need it or if you could do without.
