Rose student goes into coma at Exotic Thai

TERRE HAUTE - A night of fine dining has gone from delicious to disaster.

Chris Crotchwell, a student at local nerd barn Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, fell into a coma Thursday night while eating at Terre Haute hotspot Exotic Thai.

Doctors at Union Hospital are still trying to discern the cause of Crotchwell’s collapse. Their initial theory was a diet mountain meth overdose, a rampant problem in east Terre Haute, but circumstantial evidence suggests otherwise.

“After interviewing witnesses, I believe the coma’s cause was Mr. Crotchwell’s pad thai: it was simply too delicious,” said Dr. Carver of Union Hospital.

So delicious, in fact, that the rush of dopamine to Crotchwell’s brain caused him to suffer a small euphorattack and go into hibernation.

“He went down like my senior laptop without a power cord,” said friend and co-eater, Carson Beej.

Rescuers made a heroic effort and saved Crotchwell before he drowned in gourmet Thai cuisine. “I wanted to help him sooner, but my thai red curry was way too delicious... so I just kind of kept eating,” said Beej.
