One line majors

Matt Melton

Currently on Major #4 of 16

Electrical Engineering — The easiest way possible to take those GPA-raising Systems classes.

Civil Engineering — The social, outdoorsman engineer. Not to be confused with four years of freshmen level classes.

Physics — Every formula you proved in Physics I with real world experiments I can disprove with formulas longer than Mike Tyson’s rap sheet and no real world proof.

Applied Biology — I like Rose, but I suck at math.

Biomedical Engineering — Part mechanical, part biology, part we’re only in it because there’s a lot of girls.

Chemistry — I don’t want to enjoy my four years of college, I want to have a purely legitimate reason to whine about how much my schoolwork sucks.

Chemical Engineering — I would also like to complain and be irritable all year about my work, I just want my major to end in “engineering.”

Mechanical Engineering — The perfect balance of ease and respect, it’s sliding through Rose without being trashed for it.

Engineering Physics — Reduced fat physics meets diet every other engineering major.

Computer Science — Learning that when your code is wrong, you must spend three hours looking for where you used incorrect formatting, forgot to add a semi-colon, or capitalized Pi.

Software Engineering — The one everyone confuses with Computer Science that no one outside of it can really explain.

Optical Engineering — Lenses, holographs, lasers, it’s like “Star Trek” without the Klingons.

Economics — Going to RHIT for Econ: the equivalent of going to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for the guys.

Mathematics — The only friends of that stealer of Sunday night’s sleep, the prince of darkness, the reason freshmen are commonly found balled up in the corner crying their eyes out — MAPLE.

Computer Engineering — Building computers, because it’s a hell of a lot easier than using them.

Engineering Management — Because it pays being able to deal with people like me.

Undeclared — I’m just here for the partying/World of Warcraft/ladies. (Also known as “gone by Christmas”)

General Studies — Level 70 Wizard, Halo 3 regular, RHA Smash Brothers’ Tourney Champ.
