Concussion may have caused Benoit killingsA doctor associated with the Sports Legacy Institute released an analysis of deceased pro-wrestler Chris Benoit’s brain. The analysis suggests that Benoit suffered from multiple concussions. Dr. Robert Cantu said that the amount of brain damage Benoit had could cause depression and irrational behavior. Cantu also stated that, regardless of the results, there’s no way to prove that the concussions contributed to Benoit killing his family. The wrestler’s brain also showed similar characteristics to three pro football players who committed suicide.
Facebook to allow profiles in search enginesThe people behind the popular social networking site, Facebook, have decided to create a limited public listing service that will be available to people not logged in to the site. The listing will also be available to view through search engines such as Google and Yahoo!. This is a significant change for the website since it has previously denied access to the major Internet search engines. A site engineer for Facebook stressed that the listing service will contain less information than someone will see right after signing up. Additionally, users will have complete control over their public listing.
Microsoft drops Zune priceMicrosoft announced on Wednesday that it will be dropping the price of their 30 GB portable media player, Zune, to $200. This price cut came right on the heels of an expected announcement of revamped iPod and iPod Nanos by Apple. According to Microsoft, the price cut is all part of their normal product lifecycle. The company had confirmed in July that an updated Zune model will be released by Thanksgiving and Christmas in the United States, however, very little is known about the new devices.
