Paramount chooses HD-DVD
Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Animation SKG Inc. announced Monday that it plans to release all future high definition movies on HD-DVD and discontinue movie releases on Blu-ray Disc. This decision was made after the companies decided that the HD-DVD format offered better quality along with players that were lower-priced. Manufacturing costs were another consideration. The majority of the movie industry, on the other hand, is choosing to release movies on Blu-ray Disc, which has outsold HD-DVD 2-to-1.
