The Detroit Tigers swept the Oakland Athletics in the American League Champtionship Series. The Tigers won the AL pennant with stellar pitching backed up by a potent offense which outscored the A’s in the series 22-9. The Tigers have been perfect in the 2006 postseason since their game one loss to the New York Yankees in the ALDS, relying on young starters Justin Verlander, Nate Robertson, and Jeremy Bonderman along with the seasoned veteran Kenny Rogers.
