ALDS: Yankees and TigersThe New York Yankees came out strong in their first game of the 2006 postseason against the Detroit Tigers with an 8-4 victory but the Tigers responded in game two. The Tigers ended up on top by a score of 4-3 in game two after a solid performance. on the mound and at the plate.
ALDS: Athletics and TwinsThe Oakland Athletics lead their series against the Minnesota Twins 2-0. Despite showing power late in the second game, a timely error by all-star center fielder Torii Hunter allowed the A’s to assert their position in the series.
NLDS: Cardinals and PadresThe St. Louis Cardinals lead their series against the San Diego Padres 2-0 partly due to Albert Pujols’ bat and partly due to stellar pitching performances. Chirs Carptenter opened the series with an outstanding outing, followed by a shutout by Jeff Weaver in game two.
NLDS: Dodgers and MetsThe New York Mets proved to be too much for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first game of their series. The Mets, on the backs of thier replacement starter John Maine and a stellar 4-5 at the plate performance from Carlos Delgado, won by a score of 6-5.
