YouTube Videos of the Week

David Bander

This week, I am highlighting a couple music videos taken from popular music and have some sort or amateur twist to it. If you have any more videos you think I need to see, shoot me an e-mail at entertainment@rose-hulman.edu

B.A.S - A Cappella

What it is: A cover of a cover. Brilliant. DeCadence, an a cappella group from University of California Berkley, covers this popular song that Ben Folds covered from Dr. Dre. You can really hear the beauty of the lyrics here. Careful for the sheltered ears, there are a few words that might not be safe for work, as one might assume if they know the song. The Rose Chorus should do this. Can we get someone to check on this?

Hey Ya Cover

What it is: Speaking of covers, I know this one has been around a bit, but it is too good not to list it here. Outkast’s “Hey Ya” makes or breaks impromptu dance parties and has helped defined our generation. Have you ever stopped to listen to the glory of the words? They are some of the most important lyrics ever composed, and will change your life listening to this. If I didn’t know better, this could almost be some sort of downer-emo song. The dance party hit is now a make out song for our ages.
