Cell phones: “The Bullet”
“Buzzbuzz.”
“Buzzbuzz.”
It’s an early-afternoon lecture class, and a heavy lunch has left everyone drowsy... Except that one guy. That one guy that always spends the entire class text messaging. You know the guy.
From him we hear: “Buzzbuzz.” “Clickclickclick.” Snicker.
He’s so very proud of his new phone, dubbed “The Bullet” and put out by entertainment guru company Balogna. It’s a shiny, sleek little phone; it’s kind of ellipsoid, per the name.
He never puts it away. Ever. Walking through the halls, sitting in class, whatever. We never see him put it away.
One of his snickers draws our attention to him. This one was different, maybe a little throaty.
We both look over, and see he has this silly little grin on his face.
But his phone... where is it?
“Buzzbuzz.” Quiet throaty chuckle.
We look at each other, then back over at him. He shuffles around in his seat for a moment, slipping something into his bag. He stands, and with barely a glance at the lecturing professor, slips out of the classroom.
A minute later, we see him outside smoking a cigarette peacefully.
We glance at each other again. We need to get one of those phones!
