The above headline should be something that will catch the reader’s interest. The current paragraph (the first) is an introduction. It should be only an overview of the events, making sure to go over the five fundamentals of any story: how many were hurt, who slept with whom, blatant advertising, political propaganda, and, finally, anything that can distract people from what is actually going on in the world.

For example: Today, Peyton Manning was found in bed with Jessica Alba, during a botched robbery that resulted in a fire fight that wounded 50 and demonstrated the accuracy and power of the Glock firearm, which is now on sale at Walmart.

The second paragraph is where you elaborate on your introduction.

So is the third paragraph.

Normally it should get longer with each paragraph.

But short is fine

too...

and so on.

By now you should wrap up your story. Try to keep it short, but complete, circumventing the laws of physics if needed. This is for the benefit of people who just turn to the last page and just read the ending anyway.

By the way, make sure that you replace this with an actual story. Boy, would it be embarrassing otherwise.
