Society of Women Engineers
Girl Scout Engineering Patch Days

SWE’s upcoming events are the Girl Scout Engineering Patch Days. This project brings girl scouts from fourth to sixth grade age from around the Wabash Valley to campus to learn about science and engineering. The project started when SWE girls realized that the requirements for the Girl Scout badges were not, in their opinion, a sufficient exposure to science and engineering. The girl scouts spend a Saturday morning on campus, participating in 7 different hands-on science/engineering labs and presentations run by SWE volunteers. This year’s events will occur on January 13, 2007 and again on March 10, 2007. Students can help by donating soda bottle caps and unwanted Christmas light strands.
