TERRE HAUTE, IND. --
The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team
retained its rankings in three NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional
polls this week.
The Engineers are ranked
second in the region by d3kicks.com, which uses a
math based formula to determine weekly power rankings.
Rose-Hulman remained fourth in the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America
weekly Great Lakes Region poll after an 11-0 win over Franklin
on Tuesday. The Engineers also
received votes in the NSCAA national poll for the first time in
school history.
In addition, Rose-Hulman
stands sixth in the NCAA Women's Soccer Committee Regional poll
that is used to evaluate brackets and determine at-large
candidates for the NCAA playoffs.
The Engineers stand 16-2
overall and 7-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference play.
The Engineers currently hold a school record 13-game winning
streak.
Freshman Molly
Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day) leads
the Engineer offense and the HCAC with 16 goals and 37 points.
Senior Julie Roebel (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton Academy) has
also added 16 goals with 34 points.
Senior
Jennifer Gordon (Zionsville) has added 33 points on seven
goals and a school record 19 assists. Senior
Sarah Graber (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair) has pitched in with
11 goals and 30 points, with freshman Elisabeth Baca (Santa
Fe, N.M.) adding 15 points on five goals and five assists.
Defensively, the Engineers
have allowed just 13 goals in 16 matches for a 0.72 goals
against average. Senior Rachel Miller (Spring,
Texas/Klein Collins) has led the Engineers with a 0.59 goals against average with 39 saves in
1,120 minutes of
action. Miller has allowed just two goals in her last 883
minutes for a 0.20 goals against average over the stretch.
Rose-Hulman caps its
regular season at Hanover College on Saturday, then hosts either
Manchester or Mount St. Joseph in the HCAC Semifinals on Wed.
