ANDERSON STATS

ANDERSON, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team dropped a 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 25-17 decision to in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Anderson University on Wednesday night.

Despite the loss, Rose-Hulman clinched its first league tournament appearance since 1999 with a Transylvania defeat tonight.  The Engineers would win any potential tiebreak over Franklin for sixth spot due to their victory earlier this season.

Freshman Anna Lewer (Indianapolis, Ind./ Lutheran) led the offensive effort with 12 kills and sophomore Karah Hickman (Hobart) added 11.

Junior Amanda Jevons (Henderson, Nev./Rancho) pitched in with 10 kills and just one error.

Junior Leah Pelzel (Loveland, Ohio/ Mount Notre Dame) led the squad with 36 assists.  Hickman joined sophomore Morgan Williams (Fenton, Mich./Powers Catholic) with four blocks each.

Rose-Hulman stands 19-11 overall and 4-3 in HCAC play.  The Engineers conclude the regular season on Saturday with home matches with Bluffton and Illinois College.
