ANDERSON, IND. --
The Rose-Hulman volleyball team dropped a 25-23, 20-25, 25-19,
25-17 decision to in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference rival Anderson University on Wednesday night.
Despite the loss,
Rose-Hulman clinched its first league tournament appearance
since 1999 with a Transylvania defeat tonight. The
Engineers would win any potential tiebreak over Franklin for
sixth spot due to their victory earlier this season.
Freshman
Anna Lewer (Indianapolis, Ind./ Lutheran) led the offensive effort
with 12 kills and sophomore Karah Hickman (Hobart) added
11.
Junior Amanda
Jevons (Henderson, Nev./Rancho) pitched in with 10 kills and
just one error.
Junior Leah
Pelzel (Loveland, Ohio/ Mount Notre Dame) led the squad with
36 assists. Hickman joined sophomore Morgan Williams
(Fenton, Mich./Powers Catholic) with four blocks each.
Rose-Hulman stands 19-11
overall and 4-3 in HCAC play. The Engineers conclude the regular season on
Saturday with home matches with Bluffton and Illinois College.
