The men were led by junior Matt Repking (Effingham, Ill./Teutopolis) who opened the meet with a career best mark of 9:40.80 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after missing most of the indoor season. Repking’s mark also ranks fifth all-time in Rose-Hulman steeplechase history.

Other winners for Rose-Hulman included senior pole vaulter Ryan Schipper (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) who cleared an NCAA provisional mark of 15’ 6 1/4” and junior Thomas Reives (Indianapolis, Ind./Arsenal Tech) who took the high jump with a leap of 6’4”.

Notable performances for Rose-Hulman included freshman Calvin Bueltel (Huntingburg, Ind./Southridge) who took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.77 seconds and third in the 100-meter dash in 11.41 seconds; sophomore Stephen Boedicker (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) who ran a career best 15:59.68 in the 5000-meter run to take second; and senior Paul Ceravolo (Warren, Mich./Mott) who took second in the discus (122' 4"), third in both the hammer throw (137' 9") and shot put (43' 0 1/4"), and fourth in the javelin (136' 9").

Matt Repking won the steeplechase to open the day.

On the women’s side, Rose-Hulman freshman Sarita Stephney (Houston, Texas/Hasting) began her outdoor career by doubling in the sprints.  Stephney set a school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.99 seconds and won the 200-meter dash in 26.98 seconds, a mark that ranks third all-time at Rose-Hulman.

In the running events, junior Rachel Krasich (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) captured first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a school record time of 12:19.63, bettering the old mark of 12:48.19 set by Lusia Fairfax in 2005.  Rose-Hulman also picked up a trio of second-place finishes from senior Mandy Hecker (Georgetown, Ind./North Harrison) who completed the 800-meter run in 4:57.98, a time that is third best in her career, and junior Katy Evert (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles with times of 17.34 seconds and 1:10.73, respectively.

Rachel Krasich shattered a
school record in the steeplechase.

Off the track, senior Kathleen Stynes (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) and junior Janel Belton (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway West) led the way with two strong performances each.  Stynes captured first place finishes in both the high jump (5' 0 1/4") and pole vault (8' 6"), while Belton took first in the discus with a toss of 115’ 5” and second in the shot put with a mark of 36’ 4”.  Stynes mark in the high jump topped the previous school record.
