Michael Caruso has lifted the Rose-Hulman
swimming programs to new heights over the past six seasons, culminated with
a third-place men's finish in the nationally respected College Conference of
Illinois and Wisconsin Championships in 2008.
Caruso has coached
student-athletes to one individual national championship, 13 national
qualifying times and two All-American awards. He was also named CCIW
Men's Coach of the Year in 2008.
In his six seasons, the Engineers have
also compiled 27 school records, 47
all-conference swims, and a total of 32 all-conference award winning
swimmers and divers.

Caruso graduated with a bachelor's
degree in physical education and completed a concentration in recreation with a minor in business management
at Bridgewater State College.
While coaching at Rose-Hulman, Caruso completed a master’s degree in recreation and sport management at Indiana
State University.
Caruso was a varsity swimmer for three years
while at Bridgewater State and captained the team for two years. He also
participated on the track & field and football teams. During his senior
year at Bridgewater State, Caruso completed an internship in the Recreation
department at Stonehill College (Easton Mass.).
