Adam Effinger finished 25th and 27th nationally in two events at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

OXFORD, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Adam Effinger (Plainfield) placed 25th in the 200-yard butterfly and 27th in the 100-yard event at the 2008 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at Miami University.

Effinger completed the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:54.17 to top his previous best mark of the 2008 season.  His 100-yard butterfly effort was finished in a time of 51.06 seconds.

The 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships marked the second time that Effinger will compete in the national meet.  He previously earned ninth-place honors in the 100-yard butterfly and finished 15th in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2006 Championships. 

Effinger qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships with his time of 50.61 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Meet.

Effinger's career highlights include five all-conference honors in three different swimming leagues.  He captured the 2006 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events and captured runner-up honors in the 100-yard butterfly in the CCIW meet in 2008.

In addition, Effinger holds school records in the 100-yard (50.19) and 200-yard butterfly events (1:53.03), along with a share of marks in the 200-medley, 400-freestyle and 800-freestyle relays.
