Four First-Place Finishes, Four Seconds Highlight Engineer Swimming and Diving Effort vs. Wabash

Adam Effinger earned a pair of victories in a dual matchup against Wabash College.

TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology captured four first place and four runner-up honors to highlight a dual meet loss to Wabash College on Saturday.

Junior Adam Effinger (Plainfield) led the way with two individual victories.  He captured victories in both the 50-freestyle (22.93) and 200-butterfly (2:00.37).

Sophomore Nick Lee (Bryan, Texas) added a 200-freestyle victory in a time of 1:51.81.  The 800-freestyle relay team of Jacob Sorensen (Enterprise, Ala.), Lee, freshman Brian Yount (Bloomington, Ill.) and Effinger also claimed a top finish with a time of 7:29.03. 

Runner-up efforts included Yount in the 200-freestyle in a time of 1:54.01; Sorensen in the 200-individual medley in a time of 2:06.89; Lee in the 100-freestyle in a time of 49.71; and diver Matthew Melton with 142.95 points.

The Rose-Hulman season continues with a women's only home meet against St. Mary's College next Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sports and Recreation Center.
