Kevin Lanke enters his 12th year as the primary sports information contact at his alma mater this season.

Lanke, promoted to assistant athletic director for sports information and communications in 2009, serves the daily publicity and NCAA statistical needs for Rose-Hulman's 21 athletic teams.  He has also helped coordinate the college's media efforts for the team's hosting of the Indianapolis Colts Training Camp for 11 years.

Lanke has served as the primary media contact for Rose-Hulman's hosting roles in the 2002 and 2003 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships, the 2007 and 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships, three NCAA Division III Baseball Mideast Regionals, and the 2009 NCAA Division III Cross Country Great Lakes Regional.

He has earned 21 national publication awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) since 2002.  His honors include six "Best in the Nation" honors (four in soccer and two in women's basketball) along with "Best Cover" awards for the 2006 women's basketball and 2008 softball guides.

Lanke earned the President's Outstanding Service Award at Rose-Hulman's Commencement ceremony in 2006.  He also received the athletic department's Jess Lucas Spirit Award for his support and efforts to promote the college's teams in 2004, and received an Outstanding Dedication and Service Award from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2006.

In 1997, Lanke became the first student to win Rose-Hulman's John Mutchner Award, presented to the gentleman who unselfishly gave time and support to the athletic program.

Lanke, 34, earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Rose-Hulman in 1997.  As an undergraduate student, he served as a radio commentator for Fightin' Engineer football, baseball and basketball games while working in the sports information office.

Upon graduation, Lanke served as the men's sports information director for the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference during the 1997-98 academic year.  He serves as a district coordinator and active national voting member for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, sponsored by CoSIDA.

Lanke and his wife Stephanie reside in Terre Haute.
