HANOVER, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology extended their winning streak to seven games as they
defeated Hanover College 2-0 Saturday.
Senior Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill/Lake Forest)
scored the Engineers first goal as he knocked the ball into the
net from six yards out off the cross pass from junior Corbin
Clow (Martinsville, Ind). The goal was Evans sixth
goal of the season.
Sophomore Clint Vatterrodt (Bloomington,
Ill/University) scored the insurance goal in the 80th minute
as he put in his second goal after the Panther goalie mishandled
the ball in front of the net.
Vatterodt also led the Rose-Hulman offense as he
led the team with five shots. Evans and sophomore Tim
Hollingshead (St. Peters, Mo/Lutheran St. Charles) also
contributed four shots each. The Engineers controlled the
ball the entire game as they outshot the Panthers 21-7.
Junior goalie Andy Kruth (Cedar Park,
Texas/Vista Ridge) recorded his fifth shutout of his career
and moves into third place in school history for most shutouts
in a season with his shutout victory today
The Fightin' Engineers return to
action on Tuesday night as they face Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference foe Franklin College.
