TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
men's and women's basketball teams swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Player of the Week honors in results released today by the league
office.
Senior Brian Bibb (Hoopeston, Ill.) captured
the men's honor, while senior Rebekah Forsyth (Farmersburg/N.
Central) earned the women's honor.
Bibb shot 76% from the field and averaged 21.5
points and 11.0 rebounds in two games to lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-1
record last week.
Bibb set a career-high with 31 points and grabbed 16
rebounds in an 80-78 win over Fontbonne, then added 12 points, six
rebounds in a three blocked shots in a loss at Earlham. The
Engineers stand 4-5 overall after last week's split.

Forsyth snapped her own school record with 38 points
to lead the Engineers past Marian 84-70 in the championship game of
the 2006 Rose-Hulman Invitational.
Forsyth finished 14-16 from the field with three
steals and three assists as the Engineers improved to 10-1 overall
and extended their school record winning streak to seven.
For the week, Forsyth averaged 26.0 points and 7.0
rebounds on 68% shooting from the field. The Engineers have
earned four consecutive HCAC Player of the Week awards in women's
basketball, with three awards for Forsyth and one for senior Suzy
Carlson.
Rose-Hulman's men host Cincinnati-Clermont later
tonight, while the women return to action on Dec. 29 at Webster
University.
