TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Two Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology student-athletes earned Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Player of the Week honors in results released today
by the league office.
Senior Ron George (Louisville, Ky./Manual)
claimed men's basketball Player of the Week accolades, while
junior Tyler Goble (Bloomington/South) captured Wrestler
of the Week honors.
George averaged 16.0 points per game and shot 80%
from the field to lead Rose-Hulman to a perfect 2-0 record last
week.
George finished a perfect 8-8 from the field with
a game-high 19 points to lead Rose-Hulman past Hanover 73-71 in
the 200th career victory for men’s basketball coach Jim Shaw on
Saturday.
He added 13 points and five steals in a 70-66
overtime win over Robert Morris-Springfield on Tuesday night.
For the week, George finished 12-15 from the field with four
assists and five steals.
Goble finished a perfect 4-0 with a pair of pins
to earn the 165-pound individual title at the Manchester College
Invitational on Saturday.

Goble pinned Colin Swick of Ohio Northern and Wes
Mathleu of Wisconsin-Platteville in the first minute of matches, then defeated
Leon Allen of Ohio Northern 8-2 to reach the final.In
the championship match, Goble earned a convincing majority decision over No. 1
seed A.J. Coleman of Ohio Northern by a 12-1 count. With the victory, Goble
improved to 13-1 on the season and 66-23 in his career with the four wins on
Saturday.
