Men's National Champions

Men's Weight Throw:
Brandon Houle
Wisconsin-Oshkosh

"It feels awesome to be at the top.  This is my third year here.  I've been second and third, so it's great to finally be the champion.  I was just trying to throw it past 19 meters.  I knew if I got it that far, I had a chance to win."

Men's Long Jump:
Greg Tyson
Heidelberg

"As the defending national champion, I just wanted to defend my title.  There were a lot of great jumpers here. On my final jump with a really good jumper behind me, I knew I just had to go out and give it my all."

"The first thing I needed to do was get ahead of the three guys in front of me and close the gap between us and the top pair of runners, then rely on our anchor to bring it home." -- Nate Boehlke

"I just wanted to inch closer and closer with each lap and keep pushing harder.  I found myself in a good position behind the NYU guy, forcing myself faster and faster, and ran the race of my life." -- William Kaul

Men's Distance Medley Relay:
Wisconsin-Oshkosh

"With the first leg of the race, being the inside lane, I just wanted to get out quickly and not get boxed in.  That is what I did and that kept us in it." -- Andrew McGuire

"I just needed to keep up with the pack and not fall behind.  I needed to move us up and get it into the hands of our third leg." -- A.J. Hollanquest

Men's Pole Vault:
Kevin Clark
Elizabethtown

"There were a lot of great pole vaulters here, and it was great to have that battle to the end.  I knew I could make that final vault if I just stuck to my routine."

Men's Mile Run:
Will Leer
Pomona-Pitzer

"It is just awesome to be here.  (Brian Butzler and Mike Flint) are great runners, and I knew that they would be pushing me hard the entire race.  I was just praying that I would still have enough in me for the last 200 meters."

Men's 55-Meter Hurdles:
Kenddrick Gibbons
Lincoln

"After fracturing my toe three weeks ago and taking a spill at the end of the preliminaries yesterday, I knew that I had to have perfect form today.  I am just glad to be able to help my team out in this race."

Men's 400-Meter Dash:
Bobby Young
Lincoln

"It feels great to help my team and defend my title.  I just ran hard and kept running harder with each turn."

Men's Shot Put:
Bobby Riley
Wisconsin-La Crosse

"I was feeling really good going in, and I knew if I could just get my hand behind it and get one strong throw in, I could get it."

Men's 55-Meter Dash:
Eddie Bynum
Salem State

"I just wanted to keep my mind clear and keep good form coming off the blocks.  You never expect to be the national champion, so to do this feels awesome."

Men's High Jump:
Nick Stanisavljevic
SUNY-Brockport

"It feels great to be here and compete.  Going into each jump, I just concentrated on my mechanics and did what I needed to do."

Men's 800-Meter Run:
Jimmy O'Brien
Ohio Northern

"For the first few laps, I just wanted to stay toward the top and not get boxed in.  At the end, I just gave it everything.  Being a sophomore with the Indoor Nationals at Ohio Northern University next year, I just hope I'll get the chance to defend the title in front of our home crowd."

Men's Triple Jump:
Kamar James
Fisk

"It was a real privilege to come out and represent my school.  I just wanted to come out and give it my best."

Men's 5,000-Meter Run:
Fred Joslyn
SUNY-Cortland

"It feels so awesome to win this race.  I just wanted to stay toward the front.  I knew I had a good kick, so I didn't care if I was first or fifth as long as I could see the front ahead of me.  I knew I could hang in there."

Men's 4-x-400 Meter Relay:
Wisconsin-La Crosse

"Coming into that final lap, I knew that (Cory Wright) was right behind me, so I just ran my hardest.  I just wanted to leave everything on the track." -- Tony Marcinek

Women's Pole Vault:

Women's Weight Throw:
Terri Schwamb

"We've had a lot of really talented girls on our team, so it was great to get a chance to come out and show what I could do.  I was shooting for a personal record, as I do with each meet, and just gave it my best."

Women's High Jump:
Jennifer Harlow

"I had a really good practice yesterday and felt great coming into today.  But after a false start in the hurdles, I had to pull together and give a strong final jump."

Wisconsin-Platteville

"I knew I had a good mile time, so I needed to give my final race of the day my all and keep my team in this." -- Emma Dreis

"The triple jump is my favorite of the jumping events, so it was great to win this event as well.  I'm just taking it all in."

Women's Shot Put:

"It was a great experience.  There are a lot of great throwers here.  I couldn't even watch the final throw.  I knew that on my final and winning throw, I needed to get a lot of power and drive through the circle."

Women's Mile Run:
Marcia Taddy
Wisconsin-Platteville

"Being the defending champion, it was great to defend my title.  Going into the last lap I was in second place, but I still had a kick left.  So I gave it my all and came out on top."

Women's 55-Meter Dash:

Women's 800-Meter Run:
Marcia Taddy
