ANDERSON, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology men's tennis team completed a second-place
regular season performance in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with
a 7-2 win at Anderson on Saturday.
Rose-Hulman also increased its winning
streak to eight matches with the in-state victory.
Junior Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.)
and junior Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.) earned victories at the No. 1
and 2 singles slots, then teamed up for a No. 1 doubles win.
Other singles winners for the Engineers
included sophomore David Becerra (Brownsburg) at the No. 4 spot; sophomore Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville) at the No.
5 position; and sophomore Brent Frizzell (Avon)
at the No. 6 spot.
Hendrickson also teamed up with freshman
Stephan Lemmer (Haymarket, Va.) for a No. 3 doubles victory.
Rose-Hulman stands 11-7 on the season and
finished 7-1 on the HCAC regular season. The Engineers host Vincennes on
Tuesday before competing in next weekend's conference tournament in
Indianapolis.
