Institute of Technology improved to 2-1 in Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference men's tennis play with a 7-2 victory over
Franklin College at West Indy Racquet Club on Saturday night.
Junior Michael Schoumacher
(Memphis, Tenn.) with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nathanael Kelly at the
No. 2 singles spot and teamed with
junior Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.) for an 8-2 win at No. 1
doubles.
Other singles winners for the
Engineers included sophomore Alex Gumz (Palatine, Ill.) at
the No. 3 position; sophomore Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville)
at the No. 4 slot; sophomore David Becerra (Brownsburg) at
the No. 5 slot; and freshman Brent Frizzell (Avon) at the No.
6 position.
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-7
overall on the campaign and returns to action at the Kerry Seward
Invitational at Wabash College next weekend.
