Michael Kelly skies for two of his career-high 18 points in the Engineer victory.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shot 59% from the field and placed four players in double figures to earn a  102-52 victory over Blackburn College in men's basketball action at Hulbert Arena on Wednesday.

Rose-Hulman became the first team to cross the 100-point mark in the 11 year history of men's basketball at Hulbert Arena.

The 102 points scored by the Engineers were the most since a double overtime game against Millikin University at Shook Fieldhouse in 1995.  Rose-Hulman has not allowed an opponent to cross the 100-point mark at Hulbert Arena.

Senior Jared Moore (Indianapolis/ Perry Meridian) led the balanced scoring attack with a career-high 21 points on 8-11 from the field.

Freshman Michael Kelly (Fort Myers, Fla.) enjoyed the most prolific night of his young college career with 18 points and seven rebounds on 7-9 from the field.  Seniors Ron George (Louisville, Ky./Manual) and Ross Uthoff (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) also reached double figures with 10 points.

Other Engineers with prolific efforts included senior Phil Sundling (Huntington/North) with nine points and seven assists, and freshman Daniel Lowers (Gosport/Edgewood) with nine points and seven rebounds.

Three first-year members of the Rose-Hulman basketball team added solid performances.  Steve Ricks (Pittsboro/Tri-West) scored seven points with three rebounds on 3-5 from the field, Kevin Parrent (Carmel/Westfield) added seven points and three rebounds, and Brad Emerick (Columbia City) buried a three-pointer for the first score of his college career.  Sophomore Derek Simon (Huntington/North) also matched his career-high with five points.

Rose-Hulman shot 63% from the field during a 58-point second half that sparked the victory.  The Engineers also buried 11-16 three-point attempts for a 68.8% clip, including 6-8 in the second stanza.

The Engineers improved to 4-7 heading into the team's holiday break.  Rose-Hulman returns to action on January 5, with a 3 p.m. home matchup against Transylvania University.  Blackburn dropped to 1-6 on the campaign.
