TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
senior Brian Bibb (Hoopeston, Ill.) earned first-team
all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while two Engineer men's
basketball players captured honorable mention recognition in results
released today.
Senior Jason Bednarko (Athens, Ill.) and junior
Ron George (Louisville, Ky.) earned the honorable mention
all-league accolades.
Bibb led the HCAC in rebounds with 241 for a 9.6 average
per game. He also ranked fourth in the league in blocked shots
(22) and eighth in the conference in scoring (13.4 ppg).
On the season, Bibb recorded 20 double-figure scoring
games, highlighted by 31 points and 16 rebounds in a win over NCAA
qualifier Fontbonne. He also led the conference with 10
double-doubles on the season.
In his career, Bibb scored 739 points and grabbed 500
rebounds in 101 career games.
Bednarko contributed 12 double-figure scoring games
to the Engineer offense, including back-to-back 12-point games to
cap the season. He averaged 9.7 points per game and ranks
ninth in school history with 108 three-point field goals among his
542 career points.
George capped the season with six double-figure
scoring games in the team's last eight contests. He averaged
8.1 points per game and shot 48% from the field and 88% on the foul
line in his first year as a starter. George has recorded 338
points and 109 rebounds in three years on the squad.
The Engineers completed the 2006-07 season with a 9-16
record and a 5-11 HCAC mark. Rose-Hulman also earned season sweeps
of Manchester College and Anderson University in their first year in the
league.
