The TaikoProject drum ensemble formed in 2000 to preserve and celebrate the tradition of taiko drumming in America, and also to bring it a cutting edge.  TaikoProject: "(re)generation" features some of the best U.S. drummers, of both Japanese and non-Japanese heritage, and the ensemble's performances incorporate storytelling, hip-hop choreography, spoken word and multimedia.  It's a vibrant, rhythmic experience that has dazzled audiences and garnered impressive awards.  Think of it as the taiko version of "Stomp" and "Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk."
