DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS

This course focuses on techniques and methods of basic statistical analysis and design of experiments. Managers and engineers are often faced with data collection and analysis problems where experimental data must be collected, analyzed, and compared. Topics covered in the class include – a review of basic statistical concepts, single factor experiments, factorial designs, fractional factorials, response surface methods, and robust design.

This course will use Minitab for data analysis exercises and will feature numerous class problems and opportunities to relate concepts to work situations. At the completion of the course, the student will be prepared develop strategies to collect data using appropriate and efficient experimental design techniques, analyze the data using Minitab, and draw meaningful, statistically valid conclusions.
