Helpful workshops definitely worth your time

At various times throughout the school year, the Career Services Office arranges free workshops in the Hulman Student Union to help students hone their job-seeking skills. Check back for upcoming events.

2012-2013 Workshops:

Preparing for the GRE

If graduate school is in your future, then the GRE probably is, too! Attend one of these presentations about the revised General Test to learn how to prepare for success.

Monday, September 17th from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the Heritage Room. Presentation by ETS - about preparing, strategies, and scoring.

Monday, September 24th from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the Heritage Room. Presentation by Kaplan. Guest speaker received a perfect score on the GRE and he will give you tips on how to study and ace it.

Applying to Graduate School

Now that you've attended our workshops on the GRE, check out this workshop about the application process. Lorena Shank from George Washington University will show how to research schools and programs as well as what to expect on the application.

Tuesday, September 25th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Olin 257

Interviews Skills

Wednesday, September 26th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Heritage Room

Thursday, September 27th from 5:15pm to 6:15pm in the Heritage Room

Make sure you're ready to put your best foot forward by attending one of our Interview Skills workshops! We'll tell you what to expect in an interview, how you should prepare for one, and a method for answering questions concisely.

Career Fair Bootcamp

Monday, Jan. 21st from noon to 3:00pm in the Kahn Room.

Bring your resume and get a 5 minute critique from staff members in the Career Services office as well as industry recruiters and alumni. We will also help you prepare your introduction and "sales pitch" for the career fair.

How to Work the Career Fair

Monday, Jan. 21st from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Heritage Room
