O’Connor, a senior biomedical engineering major, was nominated by the Adelphia student organization. Her escort was Ben Braun, a senior electrical engineering major from Cloquet, Minn.

O’Connor is a resident assistant and former sophomore advisor on Rose-Hulman’s residence life staff. She is also a member of the cycling club, Resident Hall Association and ballroom dancing club. She was a member of the varsity swimming team for three years and now is a member of the cross country team. O’Connor combined her athletic interests to form a triathlon group last spring. She will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force next spring and will have four years of active duty after graduation.

The homecoming queen contest was organized by the Blue Key Honor Society. Other finalists were seniors Jennifer Frey of Harrison, Ohio; and Bridget Mayer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and juniors Jill DeClerk of Palatine, Ill.; Brittany McGowan of Gurnee, Ill.; and Samantha Sheets of Milford, Ohio.
