Design Projects Needed for Civil Engineering Students
|
|
|
Freshman civil engineering students at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
are already gearing up to work on design projects in the spring.
Traditionally, these projects are sponsored by local citizens and community
groups.
As freshmen, the students have limited engineering skills, but they always
show a lot of enthusiasm and creativity, and provide a genuine service to
the community, stated Civil Engineering Professor John Aidoo, who is hoping
to have 11 projects this spring.
Typical projects include parking lot layouts, solutions for drainage and
traffic problems, simple waste treatment problems, floor plans for small
buildings, and designs for athletic fields, playgrounds and park projects.
Each project will be completed by the students in nine weeks. The spring
quarter begins on March 8.
If you have a possible Rose-Hulman freshman design project, contact Aidoo by
February 12 at
(812) 877-8594 or send an email to aidoo@rose-hulman.edu
describing your project.
